ROMAN STACHURSKI
(2012)
Roman Stachurski works primarily in sculpture. The concepts his work explores are often derived from the convergence of science and nature. They concern social and environmental degradation brought on by modernisation; “the changes to nature caused by the destructive evolutionary path of man.” Roman captures “natural movements and patterns soon to be lost to extinction. The waving of a submerged river reed. The vibrations of grass blades in an open field. The reflections of ripples from a puddle.”
During his residency, Roman intends to develop his technical skills across a range of mediums, not only sculpture but also print and painting.
